A celebration of Bellevue’s dynamic arts and culture scene in the heart of the BelRed Arts District, bringing together live cultural performances, artists, local creative  organizations/businesses and food trucks for an immersive experience. Find Kokanee Clay Studio at Both B21, where some of our members will have work available for purchase, and check out the other vendors while you are there.

Welcome

Kokanee Clay Studio offers memberships, classes, and events for clay artists of all levels, with a focus on creativity, collaboration, and community. Whether you are a novice or an experienced potter, if you are looking for a welcoming space where you can create with clay, Kokanee Clay Studio is the place for you!

  • Creating a supportive and collaborative community 
  • Providing a well-equipped ceramics studio for adult artists and students (age 16+) 
  • Maintaining a clean, safe workspace with education regarding safe practice

Come join us in our spacious, light-filled studio with three large rooms for creating your masterpieces. Our facility includes:

- A studio for members

- A dedicated classroom for pottery classes, events, and workshops

- A kiln room with two kilns for firing student and member work, and plenty of shelves and storage space for work and materials.

- A separate glazing room  for surface decoration

- Convenient location in the 

Bel-Red/Overlake/Bridle Trails area of Bellevue, Redmond and Kirkland

- Nearby access to 520 and 405

- Plenty of free parking.

- 3 Membership tiers of open studio access for experienced students and artists age 16 and older; choose the right option for your schedule and budget, from 10 hours/month to 24/7 access

- 8 pottery wheels from a variety of manufacturers so you can find the wheel that best suits you and your work.

- Sturdy work tables 

- A Shimpo slab roller.

-Tools for throwing and hand-building

- A selection of mid-range clay bodies for purchase

- Mid-range glazes and underglazes for dipping and brushing applications

- Shelves for work in progress

- Lockers for storing personal tools and supplies

- Staff present during open studio hours to offer guidance and problem solving.

- 3-6 Weekly classes for up to 12 students each, with a duration of 4- 10 weeks each quarter 

- 90-minute mini-classes to try out the pottery wheel and throw a pot.

- Open studio time for students and members outside of regular class times.
